What's included with each apartment? Finca Afortunada has four self-catering apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and TV, set in a subtropical garden with a shared pool. Free private parking is available on site.

 

What are check-in and check-out times? Check-in is after 15:00 — Kathleen meets guests in person, so please call or WhatsApp her on +34 648 74 64 46 to let her know your arrival time. Check-out is by 11:00.

 

How do I get there from the airport or ferry port? It's around a 30-minute drive from both El Hierro airport and the port.

 

Is there a minimum stay? Yes, we ask for a minimum stay of five nights.

 

How far is the coastal path to La Maceta? About a ten-minute walk from the property — one of the loveliest walks on the island, and a favourite with our guests.

 

Can I use the pool whenever I like? Access is unrestricted during the day. After sunset, the pool is reserved for guests staying in Apartment A, whose bedroom faces directly onto it — this simply protects their privacy in the evening. Feel free to stay and watch the sunset, then head back to your own terrace once it gets dark.

 

Is there a washing machine? Apartment A has its own private washing machine. The other three apartments have access to a shared laundry area.

 

Can I bring my dog? Yes — we welcome one well-behaved dog per group for a €50 charge per stay, selected at the time of booking.  We ask that you bring your own pet bedding, keep dogs off the furniture, clean up after them, and avoid leaving them unattended in the apartment.

 

Can I host a party or have visitors to the site? Finca Afortunada is meant to be a haven of peace, away from the stresses of everyday life — so we keep it exclusively for registered guests, and we don't allow parties or social gatherings on site.

 

What about music? Amplified music is fine inside your apartment, kept at a volume that won't carry to your neighbours.

 

Is smoking allowed? Smoking isn't permitted inside the apartments.
